For any absolutely simple, simply connected linear algebraic group G, Rost has defined invariants for torsors under G. The aim of this paper is to give an explicit description of these invariants for torsors induced from the center of G, when G is of type A or D. As an application, we show that the multipliers of unitary similitudes satisfy a relation involving the discriminant algebra.
