Can anyone tell >me how it was done? ------------------------------------------------------- Info about snaps...(spoiler) I have heard several variations...many of which have been mentioned... 1. snaps mean nothing...letter is at beginning of sentence... 2. snaps represent vowels.....1A,2E,3I,4O,5U consonants at beginning Variations...left (or right) handed snaps mean nothing. 3. Left hand = common consonants (1R,2S,3T,4L,5N) Right hand ==> above vowels. If letter is not above, add sentence with first letter contained. This 3rd variation can be stretched to the ability of the players...6,7,8 snaps... The best way to do this game, though...is start with variation number 1 with a group. When one person says, "Hey...I think I got it" or that person gets the answer....go to version 2 (with a wink to tell partner). ...then, of course...go to version 3. The people will be thrown WAY off after thinking they 'had it'! It's ALL in the delivery...! Another twist, when doing a person's name (say...Michael Jordan), The snapper ONLY does the last name, since it is pretty definitive... They clue their partner by saying 'not': "Snaps is NOT the name of the game, the name of the game is NOT snaps" [J]ust a second...lemme get this one straight...smile...ponder... snap-snap-snap-snap (right hand) [O] snap (left hand) [R] [D]id you get it yet? You should have...but let me do it backwards for you! snap (right hand) [A] snap-snap-snap-snap-snap (left) [N] Not *truly* backwards...but who cares...it will only throw them off more. The key to doing this well is by coming up with good sentences fast without giving away the fact that the beginning letter is important. The more smooth your speech and casual your sentence, the better you will be at it. ...and the more frustrated others will be!!! Sometimes...the tricksters will come up with signals to represent the tough letters...like Q and Z. Perhaps a blink of the eye...or scratch of the head. When doing a first name...you do not include the word 'NOT' at the beginning. Sometimes saying 'not' and sometimes not leads to a lot of confusion... Like that last sentence. Better yet is to use nicknames. For Michael Jordan, you can blow a person away with just snapping 'AIR' and having the partner get it: snap (right) snap-snap-snap (right) snap (left) 5 snaps, not a single word, and out of the mouth of the other comes "Michael Jordan, of course!" Furthermore...if you have read and understood this all, so far... is to combine left and right clicks...having them mean nothing. In other words, AIR above has two pauses. 5 quick snaps alternating between hands means nothing...and is only thrown in to throw others off. Also...certain letters set themselves up nicely for a 'throw the person off clue'. Actually, most letters do this...just come up with ones that work for you... W - "[W]ait a second...I messed that last sequence up. Lemme start over" D (at end of word) "[D]id you get it that time??!!!?!" "[D]on't tell me you didn't get it that time!" Y (at end of word) "[Y]ou gettit?" C - "[C]rap! I screwed up! No wait...it will still work, I'll just have to do this..." ...the list could go on and on!!! snaps is the name of the game, the name of the game is snaps. [C]oncentrate this time...I am going to make it really simple... snap(left)snap(right)snap(right) [throw off...means nothing] [H]ow are you doing so far? snap (right) [A] [D]id you get it? :)
